Commercial king mackerel fishery closes

The commercial fishery for king mackerel in the northern Florida west coast subzone is now closed. The closure took effect on Saturday and will continue through June 30th, 2010. This action closes the commercial fishery for king mackerel from the Alabama/Florida state boundary to the Lee/Collier County line. NOAA Fisheries Service says the 170 thousand pound commercial quota for king mackerel has been reached.
