Franklin County now 4 months with no swimming advisories

Franklin County is now in its 16th week with no swimming advisories. Every week the Health Department takes water samples from 6 popular swimming areas in Franklin County including the St. George Island Public Beach and State park, from Carrabelle beach and from Alligator Point. They are looking for bacteria that could indicate a health hazard to humans. For the past 4 months they have found no cause for concern from any of our local beaches. There were also no swimming advisories issued for Gulf or Wakulla Counties last week. If you would like to see weekly swimming advisory results for yourself, you can follow the link we’ve set up on the news page at oysterradio.com.
