The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold two public workshops this month to find out what people think about a proposal to prohibit all recreational and commercial harvest of lemon sharks from Florida waters. The FWC is considering this proposal because of concerns that lemon sharks are highly vulnerable to overfishing. The state recently tightened shark fishing rules in Florida waters and are now afraid that restricting fishing for other kinds of sharks may lead fishermen to focus more strongly on Lemon Sharks.
