The City of Apalachicola has opened its recreation program today and tomorrow to give kids a place to go while they have a short vacation from school. Local students don’t have school today because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and tomorrow is an in-service day for local teachers.
The City of Apalachicola Recreation Program has opened its free youth program for the next two days at the City Municipal Complex located at the former Apalachicola High School on 14th Street. The program will open at 8:00 am and will run to 5:00 pm for students from Pre-K through 12th grade on today and tomorrow.
Along with activities to celebrate Martin Luther King Day there will be arts & crafts, basketball cooking lessons, a pool tournament and a talent show. Lunch will be provided by the City Recreation Program.
