There's no better way to enjoy fresh seafood than to catch it yourself. Today, the Seafood Days report takes us to the authority - a charter fishing boat captain who tells us what to expect for supper if you catch it during September Seafood Days. What is September Seafood Days?
September Seafood Days is a one month promotion in which visitors that stay during September are rewarded with cash gift cards which can be used for meals, gifts or even for their lodging bill.
Visitors that stay two or more nights with any of Franklin County’s licensed lodging providers will receive gift card rewards that could total up to $250. The amount of gift card rewards are based on the number of days a visitor stays.  Two nights stays: $50; three nights: $100; four nights: $150; five nights: $200. Visitors that stay six or more nights receive $250 in gift cards.
Visitors who already have reservations for September as well as those last minute walk-in visitors are eligible to participate.
All Franklin County lodging providers that collect state and local tax are eligible to participate. Most participating lodging providers are linked on the TDC’s website www.anaturalescape.com. Talk to your lodging provider to verify eligibility.

The September Seafood Days promotion is one of the many ways the TDC is promoting the area this fall. Also beginning in September the TDC will join Visit Florida in launching the first in what it hopes will be a continuing series of Franklin County-based Natural Florida Getaways promoted at each of the five State Welcome Centers. Visitors interested in entering this contest must visit one of the State’s five welcome centers to enter the drawing.
The first of Franklin County's Natural Florida Getaways will feature St. George Island. Resort Vacation Properties is donating the first getaway vacation which will also feature a guided kayak tour from Journeys of St. George Island, a St. George Island Lighthouse tour and tee shirts as well as a meal for two donated by the Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe.  Additional campaigns are being developed for Apalachicola, Carrabelle, Alligator Point and even a special natural getaway fishing vacation.
