Community Cleanup Weekend October 1-2

City of Apalachicola
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Apalachicola Cleanup Days October 1-2
Join your neighbors October 1-2 for an Apalachicola Community Cleanup Day. The cleanup is being organized by several local civic and volunteer groups as a way to spruce up the town and promote “neighbors helping neighbors.”

Volunteer cleanup crews will mobilize 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Community Service Center (old high school) and divide into teams.  Basic supplies will be provided; bring brooms rakes and gloves if you wish. Drinks and snacks will be available. Volunteer any part of the day or all day! If you know of a senior who needs help that day, call 653-3930.

Later that day, volunteers are invited to gather at 5 pm at Aj’s Neighborhood Grill for a community meal of fried chicken and vegetables. Celebrate the day’s work with friends and neighbors.

Join in again on Sunday, October 2 for a Downtown Clean-up. Volunteers are invited to meet at the corner of Market Street and Avenue D at 8am. Join Main Street volunteers with brooms, rakes, clippers, shovels and gloves. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
The Apalachicola Community Cleanup Days are being organized by H’COLA, Historic Apalachicola Main Street, Franklin’s Promise Coalition, City of Apalachicola, Franklin County Solid Waste Dept and Volunteer Florida.
