FWC DIVISION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
WEEKLY REPORT
March 23 – 29, 2012
 
This report represents some events the FWC handled over the past week; however,
it does not include all actions taken by the Division of Law Enforcement.
 
NORTHWEST REGION
 
ESCAMBIA COUNTY
 
Lt. Dan Hahr and Officer Alan Kirchinger were on patrol in Mulat Bayou near Archie Glover Boat Ramp when they observed a vessel occupied by three juveniles and a young woman. The subjects were fishing, but also passing around a bottle of whiskey. The officers met the subjects at the boat ramp where they observed that the operator was displaying signs of impairment. Officer Kirchinger conducted field sobriety tasks and arrested the juvenile operator for boating under the influence. He was also cited for possession of alcoholic beverages by a person under 21 years of age, and possession of an undersized redfish. The other two subjects were issued notices to appear for possession of alcoholic beverages by a person under the age of 21.
 
BAY COUNTY
 
Officer Jim Moore worked with the Department of Environmental Protection Park Patrol three nights during the area’s Spring Break. Citations were issued for numerous violations including, one possession of cannabis/drug paraphernalia case; one driving with a suspended license case; numerous cases of evading park fees; two arrests for driving while under the influence; and, eight cases of possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.
 
WAKULLA COUNTY
 
Wakulla and Franklin County units were advised of an overdue vessel with three persons onboard that launched from Ochlockonee Bay. A truck and trailer belonging to one of the individuals was located at Mashes Sands boat ramp. Officers Tyler Harrison, Seth Wagner, Travis Huckeba, Jason Carroll and Jamie Holcomb responded. The vessel was located near the ‘K’ tower and the trio was returned safely to shore.
