RE:                  Flags at Half-Staff

Specialist Daquane D. Rivers, of Marianna, Florida, died on March 14, 2012, in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Specialist Rivers was assigned to B Company, 2^nd Battalion, 28^th Infantry Regiment, 172^nd Infantry Brigade, V Corps, Grafenwoehr, Germany. 

By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by 4 U.S.C. § 7(m), as amended on June 29, 2007, and the laws and Constitution of the State of Florida, I, Governor Rick Scott, hereby proclaim and direct as follows:

1.      All National and State flags shall be flown at half-staff at the County Courthouse of Jackson County, Florida, the City Hall of Marianna, Florida, and at Marianna High School, Marianna, Florida, on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in honor of Specialist Daquane D. Rivers.

2. The National and State flags at the Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, shall also be flown at half-staff on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in honor of Specialist Daquane D. Rivers.
