Michael Hansen named to Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission

Governor Rick Scott has named Michael Hansen of Crawfordville to the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission.

Mister Hansen is the chief executive officer and president of the Florida Council on Community Mental Health.

He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning June 3rd, and ending January 5th, 2016.

The Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission is comprised of representatives from 5 states that border the Gulf of Mexico including Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

The group oversees the conservation, development and utilization of the Gulf of Mexico fisheries and creates policies to protect the resources in the Gulf.
