DOT will lower the speed limit east of Carrabelle on Wednesday

            The Department of Transportation will lower the speed limit on a section of Highway 98 east of Carrabelle on Wednesday.

The Florida Department of Transportation will decrease the speed limit on Highway 98 from Kenneth Cope Avenue to the eastern city limits in Carrabelle. 

On Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock sign crews will erect new speed limit signs, officially lowering the speed on from 55 MPH to 45 MPH. 

DOT said the results of a recent speed study show that the speed limit reduction is needed.
