2 new members join the Franklin County Planning and Zoning Board

Franklin county Commissioners have named two new members to the County Planning and Zoning Board.

The board agreed last week to name T J Ward and Joseph Strahan to fill the vacant Seafood Worker and Realtor seats.

The appointments mean that the P and Z will once again have a quorum and hopefully begin to hold regular meetings.

The Planning and zoning board has 9 members; a number of those seats require people with a particular skill set.

At least one member has to be from the construction industry; there are also seats for seafood workers, seafood dealers, and even foresters.

There are still some open seats on the board, so if you are interested in serving on the P and Z, you can get more information about the requirements by contacting County Coordinator Michael Moron at 653-9783.
