Over sixty percent of Franklin County residents have returned their 2010 census forms. As of April the 16th, 61 percent of the census forms that were mailed to Franklin County households were returned. The return rate for the city of Apalachicola is also 61 percent – for Carrabelle its 65 percent.
It’s not a bad return rate compared to the 2000 census when only 45 percent of the forms were returned.
The return rate in Gulf County is 68 percent; in Wakulla County its 69 percent. Liberty County only has a 44 percent return rate so far.
If you have not yet returned your census form you can expect either a visit or telephone call from a census worker.
Taking part in the census is the law. The census helps decide how nearly $400 billion dollars in federal money is distributed around the country and is also used to determine representation in Congress.
