Work on the new urgent care clinic in Carrabelle is a little delayed but should start very soon.
Construction of the urgent care clinic was expected to begin on May the 4th, but the building permits were just issued on May the 14th. Franklin County Commissioners say now that that the permits are in hand they expect work to start immediately.
Much of the work on the new building is expected to be complete by late November. The urgent care clinic should be seeing patients by next December.
The county is paying nearly 1.3 million dollars to build the 5000 square foot clinic which will provide medical services, plus x-ray and lab services and urgent care for emergency cases.
The entire cost of the project is being covered through a local sales tax designed to provide better health services in Franklin County.
