Twenty percent of federal waters in Gulf of Mexico now closed to fishing

Over 48 thousand square miles of the Gulf of Mexico are now closed to fishing because of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill which continues to pump oil into the Gulf.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Friday shut down fishing in almost 20 percent of the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
That's up from about 46 thousand square miles last week.
The closure extends from Louisiana to just south of Pensacola and well out into the Gulf of Mexico.
