Carrabelle to take part in Community Resilience Index Exercise

The City of Carrabelle will take a hard look at itself this week and see just how ready it is for the hazards of being on the coast.

Residents, City workers and Community groups will take part in exercise that will assess the city’s resilience to natural disasters.

The exercise will use the Gulf of Mexico Alliance’s Community Resilience Index.

The Resilience Index should identify some of the issues Carrabelle should address before the next disaster, and where attention and money should be directed to serve the community best.

If you would like to take part, the self-assessment has been scheduled for January 19th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at City Hall in Carrabelle.

If you would like to take a look at the full index and types of issues it covers, you’ll find it posted on the news page at oysterradio.com.
