Free lecture at FSU Marine lab focuses on Deepwater Horizon Spill

There will be a free lecture at the FSU marine Lab at Turkey Point this week dealing with the future of oil and gas drilling off Florida in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe.
The free lecture will be given by two FSU faculty members on Thursday, September the 9th at 7 PM.
Speaking will be Donna R. Christie from the FSU College of Law who is a leading authority on legal issues surrounding ocean and coastal management law.
The second presenter will be Felicia C. Coleman, a distinguished marine ecologist in the Department of Biological Science, and the director of the Coastal and Marine Laboratory.
Christie and Coleman will discuss the legal procedures that accompany oil and gas development and the economic, legal and ecological liabilities involved.
In the process, they will review the trajectory of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the impact is has had on the way many people now think about energy use in the United States.
Again, the lecture is free and refreshments will be served afterwards
The FSU Coastal and Marine Laboratory is located in Franklin County at the intersection of highways 319 and 98, halfway between Carrabelle and Panacea.
