Luther Rupp jogs through Franklin County - now for the rest of the state's beaches

Franklin County was visited this week by a man with a dream to jog on every beach in Florida and he has not gotten off to a nice start.

56 year old Luther Rupp came through the county on Wednesday and Thursday – he jogged the length of all of beaches on St. Vincent Island, little St. George Island, St. George Island, Dog Island, Carrabelle beach and Alligator Point before moving on to Wakulla County.

He said he’s not doing it for any cause, it’s just an idea that he has carried with him and besides he really loves Florida and this seemed like a good way to see more of it.

He started his trek on January the 1st at the Florabama and as of April the 12th had run 192 miles of beaches.

He still has quite a way to go before making it around the peninsula and back up to Jacksonville.

Mister Rupp is keeping an on-line account of his project so if you would like to keep up with his progress, check out floridaperimeterbeachrun.com.
