Family Practice Physician Joins Sacred Heart Medical Group in Apalachicola

APALACHICOLA, Fla. – Board-certified family practice physician Dr. Ryan Pharr has joined Sacred Heart Medical Group and will see patients at the medical group’s Apalachicola location along Highway 98 in Apalachicola, Fla.

Dr. Pharr graduated from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his internship and his residency training in family medicine at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he was named Chief Resident.

Prior to joining Sacred Heart Medical Group, Dr. Pharr practiced family and emergency medicine for eight years at Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem, Missouri, where he was Vice Chief of Staff and later Chief of Staff. He has been very active in the Missouri Association of Physicians and Surgeons, serving since 2012 as the state’s Young Physician’s Committee Chair in addition to being on the Board of Trustees for the association’s Central Ozark District.

Dr. Pharr is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, to which he has been a state delegate to the national convention. He holds certifications for Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Lifesaving Skills from the American Heart Association. In 2014, he traveled to Haiti as part of a week-long medical mission, an experience he hopes to repeat in years to come. Dr. Pharr also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, who love outdoor activities and games. With their move to Florida, the Pharrs are excited to transition their family walks into walks along the sandy beaches.

Apalachicola SPAM Cook-Off that generated 30 entrants,Bowery Station, the best little beer and wine joint on the Gulf Coast, is pleased to announce that it is ramping up for their 2nd Annual Italian Celebration of St. Patrick! That's right, while the Irish may have kidnapped St. Patrick back in the day and made a Holiday out of it, the Paisanos are taking back their rightful honor of this fine Saint.

Put on your red...white and yes... "green" ...and enjoy some of the best live music on the gulf coast. Tip back a toast to fine St. Patrick (born of Italian heritage) on Saturday, March 14 from Noon till 8pm at Bowery Station in Apalach!  Because...after all...St. Patrick was Italian!
