State waives state park entrance fees on Sunday

Sunday will be a great day to visit a state park in Florida because you can do it for free. The daily entrance fees will be waived at Florida’s state parks on Sunday, July 19th in recognition of National Parks and Recreation Month. If you can’t make it on Sunday, the Florida Park Service will also offer free entrance to visitors with a library card or with the donation of a new or gently used family friendly book on Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13, for State Park Literacy Month and on November 11 for Veteran’s Day. Florida has 160 state parks including a number in our area including the St. George Island State Park, Bald Point State Park, the St. Joe Peninsula State Park, the Ochlocknee River State Park, and Wakulla Springs. You can find a full list of state parks around Florida on-line at www.floridastateparks.org.
