A portion of Lanark Village is under a boil water notice today.
Areas east of Putnal Street in Lanark Village are under a boil water notice today after water service was turned off Wednesday while workers began work tying a new water treatment plant to the Lanark Village system.
People living on Putnal Street or east of that street are asked to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before using it to drink or cook. The boil water will be lifted after water samples are tested for bacteria.
All of Lanark Village will be without city water for much of next Tuesday, May the 4th so you might want to store some water away now. The City of Carrabelle said that water service for Lanark Village will be shut off at 9 o’clock next Tuesday morning as the city continues its work.
The water will be off for much of the day on May the 4th, but even after water service is returned, residents will still be under a boil water notice which could last for a day or more. The city said that once the work is done water quality in Lanark Village will be even better.
Residents with questions or concerns should call the Carrabelle City Hall at 697-2727.
