Flood warning in effect for Apalachicola River

A flood warning is in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties.

Heavy rains last weekend have raised river levels at Blountstown to rise above 17 feet today and the river is expected to crest at 18.9 feet on Sunday.

Flood level for the Apalachicola is 15 feet.

All people with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to protect life and property. Do not walk or drive cars through flooded areas.
