Flood warning still in effect for Apalachicola River

A flood warning remains in effect for areas along the Apalachicola River including Franklin, Gulf, Calhoun and Liberty Counties.

River levels at Blountstown are at about 17 feet today – river levels crested at nearly 21 feet last Friday. Flood level for the Apalachicola is 15 feet.

The river is expected to fall below flood stage this weekend.

All people with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to protect life and property. Do not walk or drive cars through flooded areas.
