Franklin County 3rd grade FCAT results are released

  The Florida Department of Education Thursday released 3rd grade FCAT results in math and reading and Franklin County students fared relatively well.

74 percent of local third graders scored at or above grade level in reading, that’s above the statewide average of 72 percent. It’s also better than last year when 72 percent of local 3rd graders passed the reading portion of the test.

69 percent of third graders at the Franklin County school passed the reading portion of the test this year at the Apalachicola Bay Charter School it was 87 percent.

72 percent of local third graders passed the math section of the FCAT, that’s down from 79 percent last year. It’s also below the statewide average of 78 percent.

72 percent of the 3rd graders at the Franklin County school passed the math portion of the FCAT this year, at the Apalachicola Bay Charter School it was 80 percent.
