Franklin County Beach & Seafood Report - May 29 2010

Check out today's beach report HERE.

May 29 Update - Enjoy the sun, surf and seafood this weekend in Franklin County. You can swim with confidence  - our beaches from Alligator Point to St. George Island are clean. You can also fish without a license in Franklin County and throughout Florida this weekend thanks to Florida Governor Charlie Crist's recent proclamation to allow residents and nonresidents to fish for saltwater species without a license during the Memorial Day weekend, May 29-31, and the weekend of June 5-6.

Today's daily beach report takes us to Alligator Point. Here, as throughout the rest of the county, beaches, fishing and seafood continue to remain clean, plentiful and waiting for you to visit. No oil-related impacts have been verified or are projected throughout NOAA's 72-hour trajectory period.

In Franklin County, fishing opportunities abound. Click here for access to the county's fishing, boating and marinas.

Memorial Day Weekend activities in the county will include the kickoff to an outdoor Summer Concert Series on the Apalachicola Riverfront, Saturday, May 29. Other events this summer will include an Elvis Extravaganza at the Dixie Theatre and the annual Big Bend Saltwater Fishing Classic in Carrabelle. Details on these and other events are available at www.anaturalescape.com.
