Gulf Oil Spill Update

This note came in from the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce

At today's Emergency Management conference call DEP Secretary Mike Sole reported that things look good for Florida and not so good for Louisiana as the spill continues to head west. It is currently 50 miles from Florida waters and by Sunday it is predicted to be 90 miles from Florida waters. Florida remains well outside of the projected path of the plume. Federal efforts will be concentrated on stopping the spill and the clean up in Louisiana. It will be 24 more hours until it is known if the "top kill" fix is working.
