USDA to present check to Apalachicola Riverkeeper

YOU ARE INVITED to join the USDA-Rural Development office when it presents a $50,000 “check” to the Apalachicola Riverkeeper.  The event will celebrate the award of a USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant for the Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s “Navigational/Environmental Flow Modeling Project”.  

Through the grant, the Apalachicola Riverkeeper has hired modeler Steve Leitman as a Technical Assistant to work with the Tri-Rivers Waterway Development Association to conduct comparative modeling to determine how the US Army Corps of Engineers can manage releases from the federal reservoirs on the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River System to support ecological integrity and navigation.
