Florida’s Tax free holiday for school supplies begins tomorrow.
The sales tax holiday runs from Friday through Sunday giving consumers a break on clothing and school supplies.
During the sales tax holiday clothes that are priced for less than $50 and most school supplies costing less than $10 are sold without state or local sales tax.
That includes everything from barrettes and baseball cleats to wallets and work uniforms.
Even items like recordable cds, legal pads and scissors will be sold without the state sales tax.
It can be a little confusing figuring out which items are tax-free and which are not.
For example, Pens and pencils are tax free, but printer paper and staples are not.
The tax holiday has been held several times since the first one in 1998; this is the first back to school tax free holiday in three years.
