Our local Franklin County Tourist Development Council is sponsoring September Seafood Days for the month of September. The TDC will be focusing on bringing visitors to Franklin County to enjoy our fresh local seafood, stay in our local accommodations and enjoy everything Franklin County has to offer. To encourage the visitors to choose Franklin County as their vacation destination they will be giving the visitors a gift card as an incentive to spend the cash at the local restaurants, seafood markets, businesses, charter captains and guides, etc. The TDC will be giving away $250,000 in gift cards to the visitors when they check in to a beach home, hotel, B & B or campground. Our chamber is inviting our local businesses to offer an additional discount to attract the visitors into your business. We will be producing a flyer that will be put in their check-in packets so they can see the local discounts and help them plan their vacation. Examples of incentives: An additional discount on a meal could be a free glass of wine, dessert or appetizer. For merchandise it could be a percentage off of their total bill and for a charter captain or guide it could be a discount for their trip. We would like to have this information by Friday, August 27th so we can put everything together and get to the accommodation providers by September 1st.
