Mexico Beach receives money for water and sewer upgrades

Mexico Beach was one of 34 communities in 24 states to receive federal money to upgrade its water system.
The City of Mexico Beach was selected to receive a $2.1 million dollar loan and a 1.8 million dollar grant to use for water system improvements.
The money is being provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to create construction jobs as well as to help deliver safe drinking water and protect the environment throughout rural America.
