The State of Florida will be conducting shoreline surveys in Franklin County, starting from West to East, on August 16, 17, 18, 2010. Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Teams (SCAT) will consist of State DEP, County Representative, US Coast Guard and a BP representative. The teams will be looking for evidence and evaluating beach conditions in relation to the Deep Water Horizon oil spill. SCAT team size will be of four people and the use of an UTV. This operation should not interfere with the public’s access and use of Franklin County Beaches.
