McFarland named Gulf County judge


Attorney Tim McFarland has been named county court judge in Gulf County filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Fred Witten. 
Florida Governor Charlie Crist made the appointment on Tuesday.
The 42 year old McFarland has been an attorney in private practice since 1995.
Before then he worked for J. Patrick Floyd and at Conrad, Scherer & Jenne.
McFarland received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his law degree from Nova Southeastern Law School.
In making the appointment, Governor Crist said he is confident judge McFarland will serve with sound legal judgment, patience and fairness.
