Boat Parade of Lights a big success

The Carrabelle Chamber of Commerce said that last weekend’s boat parade of lights was a big success.
Traffic was bad enough that the Carrabelle police had to come out to direct vehicles and hundreds of hot dogs and hamburgers provided by the city were gone quickly.
This year’s winners in the boat parade include Captain Barney Crutchfield and his crew with the boat “Fun in the Sun” which picked up the Best of Show award.
The Franklin Correctional Center took place in the 23 feet under category, Captain Millard Collins won in the 24 to 27 foot category, and the crew with the Tiki Hut won in the 36 to 45 foot category.
Sunset Isle took the first place in the 46 feet and up category while Harry’s Bar won in the pontoon boat category and Tom Herzog won the kayak division.
The winner in this year’s Marina Challenge was C-Quarters Marina.
This year’s Grand Marshall for the Boat Parade was Vance Millender of Millender and Sons Seafood.
Vance rode on the boat with the folks from the Crooked Creek Bogg.
