Tallahassee, FL, December 17, 2010 – The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is making it easier for Tallahassee’s parents to find quality baby sitters. During the school holiday break, the Chapter is offering its popular Babysitter’s Training Course. The class will be held at the new Chapter headquarters at 1115 Easterwood Drive on December 28 and 29 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Course attendees also receive their certification of Adult Infant and Child CPR/AED with First Aid and Pet CPR and First Aid.
“Students love this course,” said Dan Samborn, Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Area Chapter. “They will learn a multitude of skills while becoming more confident babysitting whether it’s for someone in the neighborhood or for a younger sibling.”
The $100 fee for the Babysitter’s Training Camp includes the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Handbook and CD-ROM, Emergency Reference Guide, and Certification in Adult Infant and Child CPR/AED with First Aid and Pet CPR/First Aid.
“I loved it,” said Lauren Sykes, 12, a past student of the Babysitters Training course.
Lauren received her certification in babysitting and first aid this past March and has since received several babysitting jobs in her neighborhood.
“The class provided me with the confidence and skill it takes to babysit,” said Sykes. “It impressed my parents that I was able to learn how to babysit.”
