WHO:       Tallahassee Concerned Vendors and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco
WHAT:     Educational Forum for Retailers and Servers of Alcohol
WHEN:     Thursday, Dec. 2, 6 p.m.
WHERE: Potbelly's, 459 West College Ave., Tallahassee, Fla. 32301
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco and Tallahassee Concerned Vendors are holding a free, educational forum for retailers and servers of alcoholic beverages. ABT participates in this educational forum as part of a three-tiered approach to combating underage drinking—education, prevention, and enforcement.
ABT agents will review how to spot false identification, conduct a discussion on responsible sales and service of alcoholic beverages, and field questions from attendees. The program is open to all and is highly recommended for retailers or servers of alcohol and any employee who deals with alcohol sales. No reservations are necessary. Hospitality industry professionals and staff are encouraged to attend and invite other industry-related personnel.
The educational forum was coordinated by Tallahassee Concerned Vendors, an initiative formed to build better understanding among the community and businesses that serve alcohol through collaborative efforts between the food and beverage industry, law enforcement, government and the community.  The goals are provided safe, hospitable places for adults to socialize by promoting, educating and heightening awareness of the responsible sale and service of alcohol.
The mission of ABT is to keep alcohol and tobacco out of the hands of underage persons, to ensure that licensed establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules regulating the industry in Florida, and to collect taxes and fees related to these industries.
DBPR’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly.  DBPR licenses more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.  For more information, please visit MyFloridaLicense.com.
