Now is the perfect time to enjoy Apalachicola Bay’s famous oysters. Florida oysters are available year round, but harvest really gears up in winter as water temperatures drop. Ninety percent of Florida's oysters are harvested in Apalachicola Bay in Franklin County, one of the most productive, pristine estuaries in the country. Oysters provide a low calorie protein that are an excellent source of zinc, vitamin B-12, and omega-3 fatty acids.  If you have questions about oyster safety, you can visit www.beoysteraware.com to learn more.

Winter Fishing is Great!
As the water temperatures fall, redfish and trout move into the creeks and rivers in the area. This is an annual migration that occurs due to the fish seeking warmer water ahead of the seasonal cold fronts. Fishermen will generally hook up with striped bass, bream, and hybrid bass during the winter season. To learn more about Franklin County fishing year round, visit www.anaturalescape.com
