.HARD FREEZE WARNING TONIGHT THROUGH WED MORNING FOR
SOUTHEAST AL.SOUTHWEST & SO. CNTL GA.& THE
FL PANHANDLE & BIG BEND.EXCLUDING THE BEACHES.

.CALM WINDS.MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES.& A DRY & COLD AIRMASS WILL
COMBINE TO PRODUCE A HARD FREEZE ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION TONIGHT
THROUGH WED MORNING.EXCEPT AT THE BEACHES & IN THE
CITIES WHERE ONLY A LIGHT FREEZE IS EXPECTED. CLOUDS ARE EXPECTED
TO INCREASE LATE TONIGHT OR EARLY WED MORNING AHEAD OF AN
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHING FROM THE NORTHWEST. IT IS
POSSIBLE THAT THESE CLOUDS MAY HELP PREVENT A HARD FREEZE WEST OF
THE APALACHICOLA & CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVERS.BUT THE GREATER
LIKELIHOOD IS FOR TEMPS TO COOL TO ABOUT 24 OR 25 DEGREES

CST/ THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST /8 AM CST/ WEDNESDAY.

TEMPS WILL REACH FREEZING AT MOST INLAND SITES BEFORE
MIDNIGHT.& REMAIN AT OR BELOW FREEZING UNTIL ABOUT MID MORNING.
MANY LOCATIONS AWAY FROM THE BEACHES & CITIES WILL RECEIVE 8 OR
MORE HRS OF FREEZING TEMPS. THE COLDEST TEMPS ARE
LIKELY TO OCCUR ACROSS THE INLAND RURAL REGIONS OF THE FL BIG
BEND & SO. CNTL GA.WITH LOW TEMPS REACHING
THE LWR TO MID 20S. LOWS MAY BE SIGHTLY WARMER IN THE FL
PANHANDLE & SE AL.AS CLOUD COVER INCREASES FROM
THE WEST LATE TONIGHT OR WED MORNING. HOWEVER.A HARD
FREEZE IS STILL POSSIBLE WITH LOWS IN THE MID 20S IN THE NORMALLY
COLDEST LOCATIONS AWAY FROM THE BEACHES. A LIGHT FREEZE IS
EXPECTED WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE BEACHES & IN THE LARGER
CITIES.WITH GENERALLY 1 TO 3 HRS OF FREEZING TEMPS AND
LOWS IN THE LWR 30S.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.

A HARD FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPS ARE
IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS CAN KILL CROPS AND
OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION. A HARD FREEZE CAN ALSO BE DANGEROUS
TO PEOPLE & ANIMALS THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY PROTECTED FROM THE
COLD. IT IS GENERALLY NOT NECESSARY TO RUN WATER OVERNIGHT TO
PROTECT PIPES.UNLESS THE PIPES ARE EXPOSED.SUCH AS THE PIPES IN
SOME TRAILERS.HOUSES ON STILTS.& PIPES CONNECTED TO SWIMMING
POOLS.
