Apalachicola man in intensive care after car accident

An 81 year old Apalachicola man was life flighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Thursday after he was involved in a two car accident.

Kenneth Pfeifer was put in intensive care after arriving at TMH with injuries to the head and hip.

The Highway Patrol said Miser Pfeifer was injured at about 3:30 Thursday afternoon while he was turning his 2003 Chrysler Van onto Highway 98 from Jackie Whitehurst road.

He pulled directly into the path of another van that was headed south on Highway 98.

That van was driven by 72 year old Frederick Bray Jr. of Chesterville, Maine.

Mister Bray had no chance to avoid the collision – he drove into the driver’s side of Mister Pfeifer’s van.

Mister Bray and his wife received only minor injuries in the collision – they were treated at Weems Memorial Hospital in Apalachicola.
