No swimming advisories this weekend

It’s going to be a little cold for swimming this weekend, but if you do decide to jump in rest assured the water is clean.

The Health Department said water samples taken from all 6 beaches tested in Franklin County on Monday came back clean.

That includes 4 locations on St. George Island as well as Carrabelle beach and Alligator Point.

There were also no swimming advisories issued for Wakulla County this week or for any of the five beaches tested in Gulf County.

Florida takes part in the Healthy beaches program which requires that water at popular swimming areas be tested once a week for any bacteria that might indicate a health hazard to swimmers.

You can see the beach water quality results for yourself on the news page at oysterradio.com.
