TDC presents plaque to Commissioner Cheryl Sanders

Franklin County Commissioner Cheryl Sanders was recognized Tuesday for her work with the Franklin County Tourist Development Council.
Sanders served on the council since its inception in 2004, most recently as chairperson.
She was replaced on the board in November by Franklin County commission Chairman Noah Lockley.
On Tuesday Fran Edwards, a member of the TDC administrative staff, presented Commissioner Sanders with a plaque for her work on the board.
The Tourist Development Council receives its funding through a 2 percent bed tax on hotel rooms and rental homes.
Miss Sanders said serving on the board was a pleasure and reminded the commission that the purpose of the TDC is to get “heads in beds in Franklin County and bring in those tourism dollars.”
She added that TDC has one cause and that’s to keep the businesses thriving in Franklin County.
