Carrabelle's C-Quarters Marina Hosts 7th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament This Weekend July 22-23
Carrabelle's C-Quarters Marina will be the site of this weekend's annual Youth Fishing Tournament open to all kids 16 years and younger. This long-standing event annually attracts more than 100 kids and their families from all over the Southeast to Carrabelle to join in the two days of fun and fishing activities. Friday, July 22 will feature a Fishing Clinic (required for all participants) which will teach the children to tie knots, tie on hooks and safety. At the completion of the clinic, each participant receives a rod and reel, tee shirt, hat and bait. On Saturday, July 23, kids can fish from docks or, if available, from boats.
There are nine fishing categories with three places in each category. There will be trophies awarded for each category. There will be a weighmaster available at the Marina all day. Lunch will be provided to participants. Pre-registration for the event is available prior to the event at the marina. On Aug 6-7, C-Quarters Marina will host the 8th Annual Kingfish Shootout. This year's payout will be $23,000 with 10 places with no change in the placement prize money. Skilled anglers can win $10,000 for the biggest kingfish. This year's boat registration fee has been reduced to $300 per boat. The annual C-Quarters Kingfish Shootout is a Leukemia Research Foundation charity event in memory of Lisa Crowder Jackson.
