Unemployment in Franklin County increased slightly in June from 7.7 to 7.9 percent.
438 people were looking for work last month; that’s 16 more than in May.
Franklin County had one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state; only 5 counties had unemployment rates lower than ours.
In Gulf County the unemployment rate rose above 10 percent last month.
Gulf County saw its unemployment rate rise to 10.2 percent with 665 people looking for work there.
Liberty County’s unemployment rose from 6.5 percent to 7 percent.
In Wakulla County unemployment ticked up from 7.8 percent to 8.5 percent.
Over 1400 people were looking for work in Wakulla County last month.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained stable at 10.6 percent.
