Two Georgia residents facing Franklin County drug charges

Two Georgia residents are facing drug charges in Franklin County after they were arrested last Friday in Carrabelle.

The arrests came after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and the Carrabelle Police Department.

Authorities arrested 41 year old Melissa Kimmons and 39 year old Michael Shane Kilgore, both from Austell, Georgia.

Miss Kimmons was charged with Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility; Sale of a Controlled Substance; Possession of a Controlled Substance with the intent to Distribute; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription.

Mister Kilgore, age 39 was charged with Sale of a Controlled Substance; Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Legend Drug Without a Prescription.

Both are being held in the Franklin County Jail under bond.

During the investigation, Deputies seized a 1994 Jeep Cherokee; nearly 2700 dollars in cash and 288 prescription pills, including Roxicodone, Somas and drug paraphernalia.
