Franklin County Commission meets tomorrow

Franklin County commissioners will have a busy morning tomorrow.

The commission will meet in Apalachicola with a relatively full agenda that includes a discussion with Franklin County Tax Collector James Harris about security at the courthouse annex in Carrabelle.

The board will also hear from Helen Spohrer about a BP buy-back program and get an update from Tourist Development Council representative Curt Blair about TDC expenditures.

Cindy Drapel will update the board about activities at Weems Memorial Hospital and St. George Island fire chief Jay Abbott will update the board about emergency communications in the county.

Lesiie Palmer, the Director of the Florida Division of Aquaculture, will also be at the meeting to discuss two issues the Board raised at their last Board meeting- eliminating the harvesting seasons, and improving the shell-planting program.

The commission will also open bids on Tuesday for a bridge project for Highway 67.
