On Monday, February 13, 2012, Franklin County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on highway 98, just east of Apalachicola. The driver of the vehicle, Jessica M. Wallace, consented to the search of the vehicle after a brief conversation. While exiting the vehicle, deputies observed one of the male passengers throw an object to the edge of the woods on the roadway. deputies recovered the object, a plastic bag, and discovered $2300.00 in US currency and a clear plastic bag containing a white substance which field tested positive for cocaine. While deputies attempted to place the male subject, Omarsharek Antoni Harris, in handcuffs, he fled on foot. After a lengthy foot pursuit, deputies were able to apprehend Harris and placed him under arrest.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two clear plastic bags of suspected cocaine. Deputies seized the $ 2300.00 cash, approximately 87 grams of cocaine and a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Omarsharek Antoni Harris, age 29, of Destin, Florida, was charged with 1 count Resisting an Officer without Violence; 1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 count Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
Jessica M. Wallace, age 22, of Eastpoint, Florida, was charged with 1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance; 1 count Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and 1 count Fleeing or Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer with Lights and Siren Active.
Rashon A. Bahammou, age 21, of Apalachicola, Florida, was charged with 1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 count Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
