There was a two car accident at the Island Drive/ Highway 98 intersection at about 8:30 tonight. The highway patrol is still doing its investigation though it seems that the folks in the silver SUV pulled out of the Express Lane into the path of the red truck and got hit hard enough to flip them over a couple of times. They ended up nearly in the Forgotten Coast TV parking lot. One person was taken to Weems Memorial by ambulance. We should have an official accident report by tomorrow depending on how busy the Highway Patrol trooper is.
