Apalach struts like a rooster this March, watch out chickens!
On Sunday, March 4 and March 25, Trinity Episcopal Church is hosting the Ilse Newell Concerts which start at 4 PM. Admission is by a $5 donation.
Second Saturday, March 10, is an all day event this month. Our theme "Chickens Come To Apalach" was inspired by 49 Palmetto Gallery which is exhibiting Jackie Black's chicken photography. Just for this day, from 3-5 PM, The Gallery will host THE "Arrested Chicken" that crows quite a tale.
Garden's Inc will be "Celebrating the Chicken" with information on hens and their compost. They will take orders for laying hens and have books available on Urban Farming and lots more.
Come downtown to see All That Jazz's Special display. Will trade Clever Chicken Critters for Cash.
Center Stage at Hand Made in Apalach are Mary Lou Athorn's unique Paper Birds. The shops beverage to share today is yummy Chicken Wine (Rex Goliath).
The Center for History, Culture and Art will feature fine art artist, Beth Appleton, Neal Smithwillow and Joe Kotzman with an opening reception from 6-8 PM. We will be entertained by Trinity's Classical Trio. AJs fried chicken wings is the appetizer tonight.
Verandas Bistro has created a Jerked Chicken dish served with a scrumptious mango salso and Tamara's Cafe menu will offer a delicious chicken special for the chicken celebration.
On March 24, start your day at the Trinity Church Yard Sale from 7-11 AM. All proceeds go to the preservation of the church campus buildings. From 11 AM- 6 PM artists will be displaying and selling their art creations on downtown streets during the Apalachicola Annual Art Walk. To add to the fun, there is a progressive wine tasting and hors d'oeuvre from 3-5 PM. Please contact our Chamber of Commerce, the sponsor of these two events, for more information.
At 8 PM on March 23 and 24th, the Dixie Theatre brings writers from Nashville to perform hits they wrote.
Every day we are so lucky to have Apalachicola's local chefs prepare fresh local seafood dishes. Our many galleries sell and display incredibly talented art work and our retail shops offer unique gift items.
