Carrabelle made it in the State exhibit on the Civil War!

Dear History Lovers,

On May 1 the Museum of Florida History opened its new exhibit entitled "Ships, Sailors and Shipwrecks of Civil War Florida;"  the exhibit will conclude on Aug. 5.  The Skirmish of Carr's Hill here in Carrabelle is included in the exhibit.  Check out the website.

There is also a wonderful book they put out on the Civil War Trail in Florida available for free.

This coming Thursday (May17), the Museum will hold its monthly Third Thursday event from 5 to 8 p.m. at the R.A. Gray Building,500 S. Bronough St.  Highlighting the exhibit will be a talk at 7 p.m. by Keith Holland, who discovered the treasure trove and led the 1994 effort to excavate the Maple Leaf shipwreck in the St. John's River.
