Bowhunter safety course offered in Bay County on Saturday

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is sponsoring a bowhunting field day in Bay County on Saturday for serious archers who have taken the online portion of the course.

The course will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon at the FWC’s Northwest Regional Office in Panama City.

The class will provide advanced instruction to bowhunters on topics ranging from the fundamentals of bowhunting to stalking, trailing and sportsmanship.

Even though a bowhunting class is not required in Florida, it is required in at least 14 other states.

If you are interested in attending Saturday’s course you can register online and obtain information about future bowhunting classes at MyFWC.com/HunterSafety .
