Buddy Elmore, who has served as chief financial officer (CFO) for Sacred Heart Health System for the past six years, recently was named the new president of Sacred Heart Medical Group. Sacred Heart Medical Group employs 145 physicians and has offices throughout the Gulf Coast, from Gulf Shores, Ala., to Apalachicola,Fla.
In addition to Elmore’s expertise in finance, he has a wealth of experience in developing physician-hospital organizations and overseeing physician practices and community clinics. Since his arrival at Sacred Heart, Elmore has had administrative responsibility for Sacred Heart’s Cancer Services and Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group (SHMOG). Since its establishment in 2006 with one medical oncologist, SHMOG has grown to provide 12 cancer specialists in Pensacola and Miramar Beach. In addition, Elmore has been responsible for overseeing the operation of Ascension Health community health centers in four states, including the Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans.
Prior to joining Sacred Heart, Elmore worked 16 years as CFO of Christiana Care Health System inDelaware. His background also includes employment as CFO at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. In both locations, Elmore was very involved in developing physician-hospital organizations in which physicians invested in a hospital organization to jointly manage risk and the healthcare of an enrolled population.
