Early voting for the 2012 general
election starts on Saturday.
Voters will be able to go to either the elections office in Apalachicola or to the county annex in Carrabelle
to vote early between October the 26th and November the 3rd.
The general election will be held on November 6th.
Early voting will be allowed between 8:30 and 2:30 on Saturdays and Sundays and between
8:30 and 5:30 on weekdays.
There are only two local elections on the November ballot,
District 1 voters will vote for a county commissioner; that race is between
incumbent Pinki Jackel and Eastpoint resident Tony Shiver.
District 5 voters will also select a county commissioner between
Hank Garrett and William Massey.
Besides the local races, there will also be a number of
constitutional amendments on the ballot, and of course voters will be choosing
a senator, congressman, and president.
You can also vote using an absentee ballot which you
can request online, by mail, by phone or in person.
You’ll find the local elections office at 47 avenue F in Apalachicola – the Carrabelle annex is at 1647
Hwy 98 east.
